I'm back!

But I'm busy Poe-ing at my new favorite Canadian Christian Reconstructionist blog. I think I've made a couple of fun comments, but I think I took it a bit too far at least once.

Unfortunately, I have a long way to go to meet the brilliance of Mad The Swine over at Dispatches From The Culture Wars!

I'll have an update on the Vancouver trip later.

  1. sinned34; You and I have at least 2 things in common, we enjoy trolling xtians and drinking beer. The CCR blog is somewhat interesting but needs moar atheists to liven it up. I will try to do my part.
Also it appears we are both fans of pastor Bob Larson. As far back as the mid 80s I was a fan of his Talkback radio show. Alas technology marches on and now instead of exorcising demons over the telephone Bob and his fellow demonologists now have the computer. The stone age has entered the 21st century!

  2. Bear,

Nothing beats putting back a couple of IPA's and wandering over to religious blogs to help a little reality intrude in on the echo chambers that extremist Christians tend to congregate at.
Habitually, I don't tend to stick around very long, because conversation usually evolves quickly down to two facets: there's no evidence for the existence of god, and all most Christians have is the anecdotal evidence of their "relationship with Christ (don't call it a religion!!1!)".
I haven't dealt with a presuppositionalist like Tim in a while though, so this ought to be interesting for the next couple of days.

  3. sinned34; If you haven't been reading christiangovernance the last few days you have missed some entertaining debates, and I say missed because Tim has deleted a lot of good stuff.Polite, well written posts with excellent referencing are the first to go, so it must say something bad about the quality of my posts that they are still up. Poor Tim is probably having nightmares lately with bullies in tweed jackets and leather elbow patches chasing him and waving books at him.

  4. I've noticed that a couple of threads where I've made what I think are decent arguments have since had the commenting shut down, and I'm not getting much in the way of replies on the other threads I've commented in. I got stuck working late last every day last week, and so I've been too busy to really keep up with the discussions over there as much as I'd like.
I actually spent a little bit of time wandering that site, and I can't find any statements on actual political policy that they'd like to see enacted, other than a generic "Christian government" that they claim "won't be about forcing Christianity on the masses".
Hopefully, this week will be better, and I'll be able to find more time to join in on the slaughter.
